NFL Week 5 Picks: $105, 15 Parlays, and Some Absolutely Ridiculous Payouts

Welcome back to Nicks Picks.
We're not here to tell you that the best running back in football might score a touchdown at -250.
Thanks, Captain Obvious.
We're looking for the numbers that don't quite make sense. The guys who might be getting overlooked. The matchups that create opportunities the sportsbooks haven't fully accounted for.
And this week, we've found a few that have our attention.
We've got $105 to work with, and we're spreading it across 15 parlays:
6 × $10 tickets = $60
9 × $5 tickets = $45
Total bankroll = $105
Every ticket is designed to deliver a four-figure payout or better. We're swinging for the fences, but we're trying to be smart about where we swing.
The Jacksonville vs. Philadelphia game has already kicked off, so we're leaving those players off the board entirely.
Let's get into it.
THE THREE PLAYERS WE'RE MOST EXCITED ABOUT
1. Jaylen Warren | Pittsburgh Steelers
40+ Receiving Yards | +389
This might be our favorite number on the entire board.
Jaylen Warren is averaging 35.8 receiving yards per game.
DraftKings is offering +389 for him to reach 40.
Read that again.
We're asking Warren to gain roughly four yards more than his season average, and the payout is nearly 4 to 1.
Now, averages don't tell the whole story. Warren has cleared 40 receiving yards in just one of his first four games. That makes this a much riskier bet than the average alone suggests.
But we're interested in the matchup.
Indianapolis ranks 30th against the pass and 30th against the run, based on our matchup board.
This is an opportunity for Pittsburgh to move the football.
Warren doesn't need to break off a 70-yard touchdown. A handful of catches, a couple of screens, and one decent gain could get us there.
At +389, we only need this to hit more than approximately 20.4% of the time to beat the implied probability before accounting for sportsbook margin.
Our take: Warren is our top value target for Week 5.
And if DraftKings gives us an attractive number for 60+ receiving yards, we're interested in exploring that moonshot, too.
2. Mike Gesicki | Cincinnati Bengals
40+ Receiving Yards | +200
Anytime Touchdown | +350
A revenge game?
Don't mind if we do.
Gesicki is facing his former team, the Miami Dolphins, and Cincinnati's receiving corps has been dealing with injuries.
Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins were both listed as questionable entering the weekend.
If either is limited or unavailable, somebody has to absorb those targets.
Gesicki is averaging 38.8 receiving yards per game and has three touchdowns on the season, according to our player board.
Miami ranks 25th against the pass.
That's a matchup worth investigating.
We're targeting Gesicki two different ways: 40+ receiving yards for a relatively modest alternative line, and anytime touchdown for a bigger multiplier.
Would we love an 80+ receiving-yard moonshot? Absolutely. But we'll need the actual price before making that call.
Our take: Gesicki is one of our favorite matchup and opportunity plays.
The former-team storyline is fun. The potential increase in targets is what actually matters.
3. Oronde Gadsden II | Los Angeles Chargers
60+ Receiving Yards | +301
Anytime Touchdown | +340
Here's a player who might find himself in exactly the right situation.
The Chargers need a win.
Quentin Johnston has been ruled out, and Ladd McConkey was listed as questionable entering the game.
Meanwhile, Denver's secondary has been dealing with significant injuries, including the absences of Pat Surtain II and Riley Moss.
That's a lot of moving pieces.
And somebody has to catch the football.
Gadsden's season average is just 21.5 receiving yards per game, so we're not pretending that 60+ is an easy number.
It's a significant jump.
But that's exactly why we're looking at the situation rather than blindly following season averages.
If the Chargers are forced to redistribute targets, Gadsden could see a very different workload.
Our take: Gadsden is our favorite injury-driven upside play.
We're targeting 60+ receiving yards at +301 and sprinkling in his +340 touchdown price.
OTHER PLAYERS ON OUR RADAR
Our three favorites aren't going to carry 15 parlays by themselves.
We need additional players who offer attractive payouts and plausible paths to hitting their numbers.
Brock Bowers — 100+ Receiving Yards (+230)
Bowers is averaging 101 receiving yards per game on our board. The Raiders' passing game gives us a potential volume play, although reaching triple digits remains a demanding target.
DK Metcalf — 80+ Receiving Yards (+302)
Indianapolis has struggled defending the pass. If Pittsburgh can create opportunities downfield, Metcalf has the ability to turn a few catches into a big afternoon.
Malik Washington — 70+ Receiving Yards (+273)
Averaging 54.8 receiving yards per game. We're asking for a step above his normal production, but the price gives us room to explore the upside.
Tre Tucker — 70+ Receiving Yards (+310)
An explosive-play candidate who doesn't necessarily need double-digit receptions to reach our target.
Harold Fannin Jr. — Anytime TD (+250)
One of our preferred touchdown multipliers. Cleveland's passing game gives him a path to red-zone opportunities.
Christian Watson — Anytime TD (+185)
Watson has shown touchdown production this season. He's not our biggest payout booster, but he can help round out a ticket.
Kenyon Sadiq — Anytime TD (+310)
Sadiq burned us last week.
Does that mean he's due? Of course not.
But we're not abandoning a player simply because the previous bet lost. The question is whether the opportunity and price still make sense.
Elic Ayomanor — 40+ Receiving Yards (+428)
Carnell Tate's injury situation could open up additional receiving opportunities in Tennessee. Ayomanor is a speculative play, especially given the Titans' inconsistent passing offense.
TreVeyon Henderson — Anytime TD (+150)
With Rhamondre Stevenson questionable, Henderson is an interesting opportunity play.
We'd love to target his receiving yards, too, but DraftKings hasn't given us the market we want.
Noah Fant — Anytime TD (+800)
This is a true moonshot.
We're not asking Fant for 25 receiving yards anymore.
We're asking him to find the end zone.
At +800, that's exactly the kind of longshot that can transform a parlay payout. It's also a low-probability outcome, so we're not treating it as a safe leg.

We're using some of the same players repeatedly, particularly Jaylen Warren, Mike Gesicki, and Noah Fant.
That means our risk is concentrated.
If Warren doesn't get to 40 receiving yards, several tickets are gone immediately.
If Fant doesn't score, another large group disappears.
That's the tradeoff when you build around a handful of players you believe offer value.
And with longshot parlays, even a strong read on several individual players doesn't mean the complete ticket is likely to cash.

We haven't exactly been lighting the world on fire this season.
But we're learning.
We're refining our player board, paying more attention to injuries, digging into defensive matchups, and looking for prices that might offer something the obvious favorites don't.
