the players we’re targeting

WEEK 1 CARD

The Board Is Taking Shape.

The Strategy

This week helped clarify exactly how I want to build these cards.

Normally, when I really like somebody, I have a tendency to put him in EVERYTHING.

Love Jalen Coker?

Great.

Coker goes on 15 parlays.

Then Coker catches three balls for 31 yards and half the card is dead.

That’s not a strategy.

So we’re doing something different.

We’re building a portfolio.

We have a $200 weekly bankroll.

Instead of putting $25 or $50 behind a handful of parlays, we’re going to spread that money across a lot of $10, $5, $2 and even $1 tickets.

That gives us more combinations.

More ways to be right.

And most importantly, one player having a terrible game doesn’t destroy the entire week.

The goal remains the same:

Find deep fucking value. Combine it. Chase huge payouts.

We’re not looking for parlays that turn $10 into $75.

Our tickets should generally have the ability to turn a small bet into $1,000–$25,000+.

And we'll have a few ridiculous $1 tickets with a shot at something much bigger.

If they miss?

Oh well.

We bet small for a reason.

Nicks Picks Week 1: The Players We’re Targeting

The lines are set. The research is done. Now it’s time to narrow the board.

Every week, I start with the entire NFL slate and work it down to the players and props I actually want to bet.

I’m looking for two things:

Anytime TDs and receiving yardage.

That’s it.

Then we look for value. Not necessarily the player most likely to score or lead the game in receiving. I want the combination of opportunity + matchup + odds that gives us a chance to turn small bets into big payouts.

Here’s where I landed for Week 1.

🔥 TIER 1: THE CORE

These are the guys I feel strongest about. They’ll have the most influence on the final $200 card.

1. Dallas Goedert — Anytime TD +210

My favorite play of the week.

Goedert doesn’t need a monster receiving game. We need one catch in the right place.

At +210, I’ll take my chances.

You’ll see him all over the final card.

2. Michael Wilson — Receiving Yards

70+ Receiving: +304 up to
100+ Receiving: +1000

This is exactly the type of player Nicks Picks is built around.

I like 70+ as the primary play. That’s aggressive enough to give us a great multiplier without asking for a career day.

Then we sprinkle 100+ onto the $1 and $2 bombs.

If the game turns into the passing environment we’re expecting, Wilson has a path to a huge day.

3. Quentin Johnston — Receiving Yards

70+ Receiving: +296 up to
100+ Receiving: +1000

Same idea.

I don’t need QJ to get 100 yards on our bigger bets.

Give me 70+ at nearly 3 to 1.

Then we’ll let the cheap tickets chase 100+.

One important rule on the final card: QJ and Wilson generally stay separated.

I want different ways to win, not one game deciding everything.

🎯 TIER 2: STRONG PLAYS

These aren’t quite the Big 3, but they’ll have plenty of exposure.

Malik Willis — Anytime TD +300

I love quarterback rushing TDs for this system.

We aren’t relying on targets, catches or receiving volume.

One scramble. One keeper. One goal line opportunity.

+300.

I’ll take it.

Jalen Coker — Receiving Yards

60+ Receiving: +224
70+ Receiving: +356
80+ Receiving: +549

We’ve liked Coker since the original lines came out.

I’m leaning toward 70+ on a lot of the card.

Then we’ll let a few smaller tickets chase 80+.

He’s a good example of why we manage exposure. I like him. I don’t need him on every ticket.

Travis Etienne — Receiving Yards

25+ Receiving: +218
40+ Receiving: +630
50+ Receiving: +1160

This one grew on me.

Etienne gives us something different from all the traditional WR and TE receiving props.

The number I really like for the more aggressive card is:

40+ at +630.

And 50+ at +1160 is absolutely in play once we get down to the $1 and $2 tickets.

Dalton Kincaid — Anytime TD +320

This is exactly the type of TD price I want.

We don’t need six catches or 80 yards.

Find the end zone once and +320 does a ton of work inside a parlay.

But against the Texans, I’m a little worried here. I’ll sprinkle him in a bit because the odds are right, but I don’t see a ton of TDs in this game, so also tread carefully.

Mark Andrews — Anytime TD +180

Not as sexy as some of the giant numbers.

That’s okay.

Andrews gives us a more reasonable scoring leg that can be combined with the bigger receiving ladders.

Christian Watson — 70+ Receiving +141

Watson serves a similar purpose.

Not every leg needs to be +500.

Sometimes we need a more attainable receiving outcome to connect two bigger plays.

Not a ton of value here, I like to take bigger swings. I almost prefer Golden going off

💣 TIER 3: THE MULTIPLIERS

These are players I like, but I’m being more selective about where they appear.

Trey McBride — Anytime TD +185

Another strong TE scoring option.

Parker Washington — 80+ Receiving +261

I like this number more than I expected.

+261 isn’t a moonshot, but that’s not the point.

Put Parker 80+ next to a +1000 Wilson or QJ ladder and suddenly the payout starts getting interesting very quickly.

Sam LaPorta — Anytime TD

I prefer the touchdown to chasing a huge receiving game.

We’ll still use 60+ receiving selectively, but I’m much more interested in LaPorta finding the end zone.

Isaiah Likely — Anytime TD +330

A classic Nicks Picks TD dart.

At +330, he doesn’t need much exposure to make a difference.

Matthew Golden — Receiving Yard Ladders

Golden has some monster prices available, including 100+ at +1180.

But I’m intentionally keeping him below Wilson and QJ.

A big number isn’t automatically a good bet.

🌕 THE MOONSHOT MENU

And then there are the bets that make this whole thing fun.

Derrick Henry — 40+ Receiving Yards +1520

This is ridiculous.

And I love it for exactly what it is.

I’m not putting serious money behind Derrick Henry catching 40 yards worth of passes.

But +1520?

Give me a couple $1 and $2 tickets.

One screen. One busted coverage. One weird game.

That’s all we’re asking.

Etienne — 50+ Receiving +1160

Another perfect small bet multiplier.

Wilson — 100+ Receiving +1000

One of my favorite moonshot anchors because it’s attached to a player I already like at 70+.

QJ — 100+ Receiving +1000

Same concept.

Coker — 80+ Receiving +549

Not quite as crazy, which actually makes him useful.

HOW THE CARD GETS BUILT

Now we take this player pool and build 49 different parlays.

The bankroll:

8 × $10 = $80
16 × $5 = $80
15 × $2 = $30
10 × $1 = $10

$200 total.

The larger bets use the outcomes I trust most.

As the wager gets smaller, the ladders get more aggressive and the potential payouts get much bigger.

And most importantly:

We diversify.

One player isn’t allowed to destroy the entire Sunday.

THE WEEK 1 BOARD: QUICK RECAP

That’s a lot of names, so here’s the simplest way to look at where I stand heading into Sunday.

🔥 TIER 1: MY FAVORITES

These are the players I want to build around.

Dallas Goedert — Anytime TD +210
My favorite play on the board. Simple. We need one touchdown.

Michael Wilson — Receiving Yards
70+ is the primary target. 100+ becomes one of my favorite longshot legs.

Quentin Johnston — Receiving Yards
Same strategy. I love 70+ for the core card and 100+ when we start chasing huge payouts.

These are the Big 3 for me this week.

🎯 TIER 2: STRONG TARGETS

These are guys I like and expect to have meaningful exposure to.

Malik Willis — Anytime TD +300
The QB rushing TD angle. One play can cash it.

Jalen Coker — 60+/70+ Receiving
Still one of my favorite under the radar receiving plays. I like him, but we’re managing the exposure.

Travis Etienne — 25+/40+ Receiving
40+ at +630 is where this gets really interesting. He’s moved up my board, but I’m keeping him below the Big 3.

Dalton Kincaid — Anytime TD +320
Exactly the type of TD multiplier we’re looking for.

Mark Andrews — Anytime TD +180
A more reasonable TD price that works well next to our bigger receiving ladders.

Christian Watson — 70+ Receiving +141
Not a crazy price, but a useful leg when paired with something more aggressive.

De’Von Achane — 50+ Receiving +344
This one absolutely belongs back in the conversation. Achane’s receiving upside gives us another way to attack a game without relying on a traditional WR.

💣 TIER 3: VALUE + MULTIPLIERS

These are more selective plays. I don’t want massive exposure, but I want them available when we’re building combinations.

Trey McBride — Anytime TD +185

Parker Washington — 80+ Receiving +261

Sam LaPorta — Anytime TD

Isaiah Likely — Anytime TD +330

Matthew Golden — Receiving Yards
Especially the aggressive ladders on smaller tickets.

Dart — Anytime TD +195
Another rushing QB angle. He absolutely should still be on the board. We don’t need a great passing game. We need one scramble or designed run near the goal line.

Omarion Hampton — Anytime TD
The price isn’t nearly as exciting as our other TD plays, but I like the Chargers scoring environment enough that Hampton deserves consideration.

🌕 THE MOONSHOTS

These aren’t necessarily different players. They’re more aggressive versions of players we already like.

Michael Wilson 100+ — +1000

Quentin Johnston 100+ — +1000

Travis Etienne 50+ — +1160

Derrick Henry 40+ Receiving — +1520

Jalen Coker 80+ — +549

This is where we can turn a $1 or $2 ticket into something ridiculous without putting meaningful bankroll behind a ridiculous outcome.

WHERE I’M HEAVIEST

If I had to reduce the entire Week 1 board to one sentence:

Goedert TD is my favorite bet, Wilson and QJ are my favorite receiving plays, and then we’re using Willis, Coker, Etienne, Kincaid, Andrews and the rest of the board to build different paths around them.

That’s important.

We’re not making 49 random parlays.

We’re starting with a handful of outcomes we really like and building a portfolio around them.

The farther down the card we go, the less money we risk and the crazier the outcomes become.

$10 bets: strongest combinations
$5 bets: more aggressive
$2 bets: long shots
$1 bets: bombs

One hit can change the entire week.

Small bets. Big wins.
